Vietnam’s under-17s beat Cheonan FC U17 5-0 on the afternoon of 26 October in the second training match of their camp in South Korea, part of their preparations for the FIFA U17 World Cup 2026 finals, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) reported. Trần Mạnh Quân and Lê Trọng Đại Nhân both scored twice, and Chu Ngọc Nguyễn Lực scored from a free kick and set up another goal. The win came five days after a 1-4 defeat by U18 FC Seoul in the first practice match.

Match summary: a second-half surge

The VFF said Cristiano Roland’s side started confidently and took the initiative at both ends, but the opener did not arrive until the 40th minute. After the break they kept control and added four more. The VFF, Thanh Niên, Bóng Đá Plus and Bongda24h all give the same account of the goals:

The scoreline was not the only aim. According to the VFF and Thanh Niên, Roland used the game to test personnel and see how his playing style works, giving most of the squad minutes; by around the 70th minute almost every player had been on the pitch. The VFF said the matches in Korea help the staff assess each player, adjust tactics and build understanding before the step up to world level.
