U2 has announced a 2027 stadium tour titled Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth. Variety reported on October 15 that its first six concerts will take place in Latin America, beginning in Mexico City on February 23, 2027.
Three cities in the opening itinerary
Mexico City's Estadio GNP Seguros hosts the band on February 23 and 26. Two shows follow at Sao Paulo's Estádio MorumBIS on March 10 and 12, before Buenos Aires dates at Estadio River Plate on March 23 and 25.
Live Nation is producing the tour, with Beck opening these initial concerts. The announced dates are not the complete worldwide itinerary: North American and European shows are expected to be revealed in the following weeks.
The band said the tour would continue through 2027 and beyond. Details of the full performance programme and staging were not provided in the report.
New music alongside the announcement
U2 also released The Greatest Show on Earth, a single from Carnaval De Luz, which is scheduled for November 13. Anton Corbijn directed the accompanying video, using a satirical treatment of love and faith.
Variety described the track as moodier than some of the band's more anthemic releases. Its title links the new recording campaign with the forthcoming live production.
Bono outlined an ambition to create colourful concert experiences centred on the band's instruments and songs. Subscriber presales for the first six dates are scheduled through U2.com from 10am local time on Monday, with remaining tickets available from October 22, according to the announcement.
