Variety's weekend estimates put Digger's North American opening at approximately USD8 million from 3,321 theatres, compared with around USD32 million for Verity. Digger's initial performance fell below expectations for the film starring Tom Cruise and directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. The figures describe estimated opening-weekend receipts in North America. They should be distinguished from worldwide lifetime grosses and from final figures issued after studios complete their reporting.
