The international window running from September 21 to October 6 lasts 16 days and allows teams to schedule up to four matches. VnExpress reported on September 22 that the revised calendar merges the September and October windows, taking effect in the 2026–27 season.
Combining them reduces first-half-of-season international breaks from three to two, limiting interruptions to club competitions. FIFA approved the change in 2023. Four matches is the permitted maximum, with each team’s actual programme depending on its schedule.
