The VN-Index fell about 16 points to close above 1,799 on September 21, VnExpress reported. Vietnam’s first trading session following its FTSE Russell upgrade to secondary emerging-market status ended lower, with property and securities shares under selling pressure.
The index was down more than 32 points at one stage before late buying in banking shares helped it recover some ground. Trading value on the Ho Chi Minh City exchange exceeded VND 17.3 trillion. Foreign investors bought more than VND 2.4 trillion and sold nearly VND 3.1 trillion, returning to net selling.
