Công an Nhân dân (CAND) won 3-2 away to bottom side Phú Thọ in round 4 of Vietnam's First Division 2026/27 on 22 October 2026, with Vietnam U23 international Nguyễn Thanh Nhàn converting a late penalty. Earlier the same day, Đại học Văn Hiến beat Bình Minh Sài Gòn by the same score, with Namli Ilias scoring twice.
CAND come from behind
CAND led in the 9th minute, SGGP reported, when Nguyễn Xuân Bắc finished a quick counter-attack off the inside of the post. Bongda24h credited Thanh Nhàn with the pass.
Phú Thọ, coached by Lê Quốc Vượng, pressed hard and punished two errors. Nguyễn Hoàng Chiến equalised in the 21st minute, and in the 39th he robbed centre-back Đỗ Phi Long and set up Trần Gia Huy for a tap-in to make it 2-1. Bongda24h noted that Phi Long had scored for CAND in each of the previous two games.
Forward Gonzalo headed CAND level at 2-2 just before half-time. After the break the visitors struggled against a well-organised defence; Bongdaplus described their attacking play as passive and short of ideas. The decisive moment came late on, when substitute Nguyễn Hoàng Anh was fouled in the box and Thanh Nhàn scored from the spot. CAND were without the injured Minh Vương, Bongdaplus said.
SGGP called it a laboured win, while Bongda24h stressed its value for Nguyễn Đức Thắng's side after two games without a victory.
Five goals in Bà Rịa
Đại học Văn Hiến were 2-0 up inside half an hour: Dũ Đạt headed in from Thái Quý's pass in the 25th minute and Namli Ilias added a second four minutes later, according to Bongdaplus. Bình Minh Sài Gòn pulled one back through an Atem Dor penalty in the 60th minute after a handball, and Tuấn Em made it 2-2 three minutes later. Namli Ilias settled it in the 75th minute. The win takes Nguyễn Đình Hưng's team to 7 points, SGGP said.
