Four separate categories
The field comprises 24 male and 16 female teams. Boys' U18 has 16 sides in four groups, M to P. Each remaining category contains eight teams split into two groups. U18 is for club players aged 18 or younger, whereas Pro welcomes professional and semi-professional players without an age limit. Clubs, academies, training centres and other organisations in Hanoi's basketball community can participate. The forty teams therefore do not compete in a single combined table.
Routes through the tournament
Boys' U18 progresses from group games to quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. The other three categories move from the group stage to semi-finals. Names in the boys' groups include Harmony Basketball Club, Phan Đình Phùng High School, Viet Duc Basketball Club and Xuân Phương. The girls' U18 field includes Clutch, Hanoi Girls, Alpha Basketball Club and Hà Nội 1. Three-a-side basketball uses half a court, distinguishing it from the schools' 5x5 format. The November dates and group allocations describe a forthcoming event, not winners already decided, and should be kept separate from results in the parallel schools competition.
