West Ham have confirmed Nuno Espirito Santo's immediate departure, in a statement relayed by Bongda24h. Assistant Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeping coach Rui Barbosa have also left, with the club beginning its process to appoint a replacement.

Change follows disappointing results

A 3-1 defeat to West Brom followed a loss to Southampton in the Championship. West Ham were eighth early in a season aimed at securing a return to the Premier League after relegation.

The club said a change was needed to keep its objectives and expectations on course. It would make no further comment until a new head coach's appointment was confirmed.

Nuno had been retained after relegation, but recent results renewed pressure on his position. The decision now changes several members of the coaching team rather than the head coach alone.

Parker linked, with confirmation outstanding

The Guardian also reported that Scott Parker is West Ham's preferred candidate. The proposed contract length and hoped-for starting date remain expectations in that account, rather than completed arrangements.

Bongda24h noted Parker's 129 appearances for West Ham as a player and his availability since leaving Burnley in April. The Guardian highlighted his promotion successes with Burnley, Bournemouth and Fulham as relevant experience for the task.

Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville handle interim duties during the transition. The next development is an official appointment announcement and confirmation of who will lead the following match. A preferred candidate and the club's hopes do not themselves establish that an agreement has been signed.
