Fitness testing remains an important condition for assigning match officials in Vietnam's 2026-2027 professional football season. At the southern training course that ended on September 9, 41 of the 42 officials who took the physical test met the requirements, according to the VFF.

One first-division assistant referee was unable to finish because of injury. The testing group included an assistant returning for a retest from an earlier course, explaining why the total differed from the 41 participants enrolled in this programme. All candidates taking the theory assessment met its requirements.

The VFF and VPF held the course in Ho Chi Minh City from September 6 to 9. Participants reviewed the Laws of the Game, the season's competition regulations and practical approaches to handling situations during matches.

The enrolled group comprised six V.League assistant referees, 13 first-division referees and 22 first-division assistants. The course followed a northern training session held in August.

At the closing ceremony, refereeing chief Dang Thanh Ha urged officials to keep studying and building experience. The training and assessments are intended to support consistent working practices and establish readiness before duties are assigned.
