Mikel Arteta says Piero Hincapié's problem could require weeks out, while Martín Zubimendi has improved but still needs assessment of pain during play. Arsenal published the update in the coach's press conference after the 3-0 win over Lille. No precise recovery period or guaranteed return date was confirmed.
Fitness assessments remain conditional
Arteta described Hincapié's issue as more significant and said Zubimendi's response on the pitch would matter. Improvement does not itself establish readiness for a full match.
Bukayo Saka had not been well enough to start against Lille because of illness, according to the coach. He nevertheless wanted to contribute if required and made an impact from the bench. Arteta praised that contribution without presenting the initial omission as a permanent change in Saka's standing.
Tactical changes and the immediate priority
Jurrien Timber, Ebere Eze and Saka scored within a seven-minute second-half spell. Arteta considered Arsenal's technical execution insufficient in some promising first-half positions; positional changes after the interval improved their use of space.
He also stressed developing different routes to victory because opponents' behaviour affects passing sequences. Discussing Myles's return to left-back, he highlighted both tactical duties and the physical demands of changing position.
Asked about Bayern and Olise's suspension, Arteta instead directed attention to the forthcoming Nottingham Forest away match. The comments therefore do not confirm a lineup for the next European fixture. They establish the squad and preparation picture after Lille, with final availability and selection decisions still dependent on subsequent assessments.
