Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Artists Equity has launched Artists Equity Independent Pictures to develop independent films and support emerging filmmakers, Variety reports. Jennifer Westin will oversee daily operations under Amy Baer's guidance. Early projects include Julia Cox's A Woman in the Sun and Sam Jones's Downriver. The new banner broadens the company's production initiative, while the announced slate does not establish release outcomes or box-office performance for the films involved.
