Draw details and tournament format

The draw for the 2027 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Cup will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, live on Volleyball World's YouTube channel. The announced start is 8 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. Eastern and 4 p.m. Central European time, equivalent to 10 p.m. in Vietnam.

The 32 qualified teams will be placed into eight pools of four. The top two in each pool advance to a knockout phase comprising the round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals, followed by the bronze-medal match and final. The announcement concerns a future draw; it does not establish the pool allocations.

Venues and Olympic qualification

The tournament runs from August 20 to September 5, 2027, in the United States and Canada. Pool venues are Montreal's Bell Centre, Omaha's CHI Health Center Arena, Orlando's Kia Center and Quebec City's Videotron Centre. The finals are at Honda Center in Anaheim, also the volleyball venue for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

The field includes hosts Canada and the United States, defending champions Italy, 15 continental qualifiers and 14 teams qualifying through the FIVB ranking. Switzerland will make its debut. Vietnam is not included in the announced field.

The three highest-ranked teams at the tournament that have not already qualified will secure places at LA28. That makes the event an Olympic pathway as well as a championship, but those places remain dependent on future results and existing qualification status.
