Vietnam’s handball delegation has 62 members at the 2026 Southeast Asian championship in Thailand. Vietnam’s sports authority reported that it covers men’s and women’s teams in both indoor and beach handball at Thailand National Sports University’s Chonburi campus.
Two stages of competition
The published programme places indoor handball on 2–6 November and beach handball on 8–10 November. Those are separate competitive phases within the trip, rather than one playing squad containing all 62 delegation members.
The teams had arrived in Thailand and completed pre-event preparations, according to the report. Coaches, specialists and athletes came from centres including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Gia Lai. Thailand and the Philippines are among the opponents mentioned, but the source does not provide individual match results.
The indoor tournament runs from 2 to 6 November, followed by the beach events from 8 to 10 November.
Squad assessment and logistical support
The sports authority describes the championship as an opportunity to assess personnel, test tactical options and gain regional competition experience. Those are coaching objectives, not results already demonstrated by the tournament.
Support combines state funding for priority duties with contributions from local sports authorities. The reported arrangements cover accommodation, travel, medical provision and insurance during training and competition abroad.
The next programme milestones are the scheduled indoor finish on 6 November and the beach competition beginning on 8 November before ending on 10 November. Results from those stages will provide the practical basis for evaluating the participating teams.
