Brunei has accepted an invitation to the 52nd King's Cup after Bahrain withdrew, according to a Football Association of Thailand announcement reported by Bong Da Plus. The 2026 field now comprises hosts Thailand, Oman, Tajikistan and Brunei.

A replacement in the guest lineup

FAT initially selected Oman, Bahrain and Tajikistan for the tournament. Bahrain subsequently sent a withdrawal letter, requiring organisers to seek another participant.

The report said Bahrain cited a coaching change and the need to reconsider its November training and match plans. That explanation concerns its participation decision rather than any result against Thailand.

Brunei had no conflicting November international-window commitment and accepted the invitation. The adjustment keeps a four-team field with three visiting sides and the host nation. No tournament matches or title outcome are established by the announcement.

Draw and organisational schedule

The event is planned in Sisaket during the November 9–17 FIFA window. That is the reported organisational period rather than a detailed schedule for individual matches.

FAT has announced a draw and official press conference for 2pm on October 19 at the Gallery hotel in Sisaket. That provides the next identified preparation milestone.

For Thailand, the immediate task is accommodating the revised lineup while Oman and Tajikistan retain their places. Media assessments of the teams' relative strength remain opinions. The confirmed development is Brunei's acceptance of the vacant invitation, with the draw and actual games still to come.
