Bùi Công Nam turns a photo studio into the setting for his music video Ngoài dự tính, released at 20:00 on November 5. Tuổi Trẻ reports that he plays the owner of the Tên Lửa studio. Diệu Nhi and Hà An Huy play its first customers, while calls from the photographer’s partner drive much of the comedy.
A makeover for the photographer
Bleached hair, metal accessories and apparent bruises give the character a rough look. Bùi Công Nam told Thanh Niên he wanted to try different ways of presenting himself as a performer while keeping the familiarity of his music. The character’s reactions to calls from his partner provide the contrast with his appearance.
In one scene described by Tuổi Trẻ, the photographer pays so little attention to his surroundings that he falls into a hole. In another, his conversation continues through a fictional photography award ceremony. The track mixes pop with country and acoustic sounds. Thanh Niên describes its lyrics as drawing on small changes in habits when someone falls in love.
A studio introduced on tour
Bùi Công Nam unveiled the poster at his The Story tour stop in Đà Lạt on November 1. A gathering with fans also used a version of the Tên Lửa studio, with the singer appearing as a photographer before the full video came out.
Thanh Niên reports that The Story received the programme series award at the Cống hiến Music Awards in April 2026. With Ngoài dự tính, the singer follows that touring work with a release that gives him an acting role alongside his performance of the song.
