Ho Chi Minh City's women's club plans to travel to Kolkata on 28 October for the 2026/27 Asian club competition, SGGP reports. The trip will follow the completion of domestic fixtures and precede another major commitment at the National Sports Games. Managing recovery across those events is a central issue for coach Đoàn Thị Kim Chi.
Domestic champions still have fixtures to complete
The club secured its national title with two rounds remaining, but the final domestic matches are scheduled to finish on 23 October. Huỳnh Như and her teammates then have a short interval before the planned departure for India.
Their Asian Group A programme is expected to begin on 1 November. SGGP names Hwacheon KSPO, April 25 and hosts East Bengal as the opponents. Ho Chi Minh City aim to reach the quarterfinals, as in their two previous appearances. That objective remains separate from qualification already achieved.
Another competition follows the return journey
A return on 9 November would leave approximately ten days before the National Sports Games begin. The football programme listed in the report runs from 19 November to 2 December at Bà Rịa. The team are targeting gold there, rather than reporting a new medal already won.
Team head Đào Huy Hùng and the coaching staff must balance workload, travel recovery and adaptation to conditions overseas. SGGP also stresses maintaining concentration and limiting injuries through the congested schedule.
