Ho Chi Minh City Women's FC will play the group stage of the 2026-2027 AFC Women's Champions League in Group B, alongside South Korea's Hwacheon KSPO WFC, India's East Bengal FC and North Korea's 4.25 SC. According to SGGP, the competition starts on 1 November, and the whole of Group B will be played at a single venue in Kolkata, India, from 1 November to 7 November 2026.
It is the third season in a row that the Ho Chi Minh City club have represented Vietnamese women's football in Asia's top club competition. They qualify as the reigning champions of Vietnam's national women's league.
A group of champions
All four teams in Group B arrive as national champions. KBVN+ has compiled their credentials from the SGGP report:
| Club | Country | How they qualified |
|---|---|---|
| Ho Chi Minh City Women's FC | Vietnam | Reigning Vietnamese national women's champions |
| Hwacheon KSPO WFC | South Korea | Reigning champions of the WK League |
| East Bengal FC | India | Champions of India's Women's League; the host nation's representative |
| 4.25 SC | North Korea | Newly crowned North Korean women's league champions |
That means the Vietnamese side must deal with the title holders from both South and North Korea, while East Bengal FC will be playing in their own country.
How the group stage works
SGGP reports that 12 clubs take part in the group stage of the 2026-2027 edition, split into three groups of four. Each group is staged at one venue rather than on a home-and-away basis. Group B in Kolkata is also the first time India has hosted a group in the competition's group stage.
What it means for Vietnamese football
Repeated qualification gives Vietnamese women's football another season of continental club competition. According to SGGP, Huỳnh Như and her teammates got through the group stage in each of the previous two seasons. Doing so again will mean getting past the champions of South Korea, North Korea and India, on Indian soil.
