Colombia are preparing for a fourth Women's World Cup appearance at Brazil 2027, following campaigns in 2011, 2015 and 2023. FIFA's profile, published on 2 November, places their next tournament in the context of an increasingly successful history.

Qualification itself was secured on 5 June 2026, rather than newly achieved in November. Gisela Robledo's 14th-minute goal earned a 1-0 win over Uruguay in Cali. Colombia finished the CONMEBOL Women's Nations League unbeaten on 20 points, with six wins and two draws.

From a first point to the last eight

Their 2011 debut ended in the group stage but included a first World Cup point through a goalless draw with DPR Korea. In 2015, Daniela Montoya scored Colombia's first tournament goal against Mexico. A victory over France helped take them to the round of 16, where the United States ended their run.

The 2023 campaign went further. Manuela Vanegas scored in the 97th minute of a 2-1 win over Germany, and Catalina Usme's goal against Jamaica secured a first quarter-final. Leicy Santos put Colombia ahead against England, who recovered to win 2-1.

Continuity before Brazil

Angelo Marsiglia worked as Nelson Abadía's assistant and oversaw the opening two matches in 2023 during Abadía's suspension before later becoming head coach. Usme leads Colombia's World Cup scoring list with three goals, followed by Lady Andrade and Linda Caicedo with two each.

The next scheduled milestone is the draw on 11 December 2026 at Rio de Janeiro's Museum of Modern Art. The final squad has not been announced and will be confirmed closer to the tournament.
