The Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering separating the National Power Transmission Corporation from EVN as part of electricity-sector restructuring, VnExpress reports. At an October 7 briefing, an Electricity Authority representative said the aim was to distinguish naturally monopolistic transmission from generation and retail activities that could become more competitive. Distribution and retail would also be separated in stages. The proposal describes a restructuring direction; it does not confirm that EVNNPT has already been transferred to another supervising body.
