Electricity customers across Vietnam can now request 12 power-sector public services through the VNeID app. Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order, a unit of the Ministry of Public Security, have completed the technical work and are ready to provide them, according to information released by EVN and carried by Báo Chính phủ, the government's online newspaper, on 24 October 2026.

The list runs through the life of an electricity supply contract, from a new connection and changes in how power is used to renewal and termination. The two agencies had worked together to widen the channels customers can use, simplify procedures and make the process easier for households, businesses, agencies and organisations.

The 12 services, grouped by need

EVN's numbering is kept below; the grouping is KBVN+'s.

  • New connections: (1) new supply from the low-voltage grid; (2) new supply from the medium-voltage grid.
  • The supply contract: (3) change of the contracting party; (6) renewal; (7) termination; (10) change of the information registered in the contract.
  • How power is used: (4) change of purpose of use; (5) change of the usage quota; (9) change of capacity.
  • Metering: (8) relocation of the metering equipment.
  • Pausing and resuming: (11) suspension of supply on request; (12) restoration of supply on request.

What changes for customers

The practical gain is an extra digital channel for requests that would otherwise go through the power company. Someone who needs a new connection has separate options for the low- and medium-voltage grids. A change of contract holder and a change of contract details are handled as distinct services, as are changes to purpose, quota, capacity or meter position.

Suspending supply and having it restored are also listed separately from ending the contract, so a temporary stop and a termination are two different requests.

EVN said it and its power corporations and power companies are committed to keep improving service, so that customers can use electricity services anytime and anywhere through popular, convenient and secure digital platforms.

What the announcement leaves out

So far the announcement only lists the services. It does not describe the steps in the app, the documents needed, processing times or any fees, so customers should check official guidance from EVN and their local power company before filing a request.
