Hive Media announced that the team behind “The Assassin(s)” would not attend scheduled Busan film festival activities because of concerns for audience and guest safety, Thanh Niên reported. A planned free screening before the opening was also cancelled. The October 2 announcement came amid controversy over the film's use of a hypothesis concerning a 1974 historical event. Cast members include Yoo Hae Jin, Park Hae Il and Lee Min Ho. The film's treatment of that hypothesis is distinct from an established historical finding.
