Vietnam’s Army sports delegation held its departure ceremony on November 3 and set a target of finishing among the leading teams at the 10th National Sports Games. SGGP reported an 810-member delegation entered in 32 of the 48 official sports in Ho Chi Minh City.

A programme spanning multiple sports

The report groups those entries into 19 Olympic sports, four Asian Games sports and nine SEA Games sports. Its 810 figure refers to delegation members, rather than a separately verified athlete count.

National-team competitors include shooters Hà Minh Thành and Phí Thanh Thảo, track-and-field athletes Nguyễn Tiến Trọng and Bùi Thị Nguyên, cyclist Phạm Lê Xuân Lộc and boxer Bùi Phước Tùng. Swimming entries include Trần Hưng Nguyên, Nguyễn Quang Thuấn and Nguyễn Thúy Hiền.

Volleyball players Hoàng Thị Kiều Trinh and Đoàn Thị Lâm Oanh and badminton player Lê Đức Phát are also named. Their presence supports the delegation’s medal ambitions across several disciplines, without establishing results in advance.

The benchmark and the next competition

At the 2022 Games, the Army finished third with 90 gold, 82 silver and 95 bronze medals. Those are historical results, not the 2026 tally. SGGP did not specify a numerical gold-medal target for this edition.

The Games run from November 14 to December 12. Table tennis and muay had already completed their programmes before the opening ceremony, the report said. The delegation’s next task is the remaining competition schedule, where its ambition for a leading overall position will be tested by actual results.
