Vietnam secured three apparatus final places in artistic gymnastics at the 20th Asian Games after competition on September 21, according to the national sports authority. Nguyễn Văn Khánh Phong qualified on rings, Đặng Ngọc Xuân Thiện on pommel horse and Trịnh Hải Khang on vault.
Vietnam’s coaches challenged the difficulty assessment of Hải Khang’s routine. Following the review, his two-vault average was revised to 13.700, placing him sixth in qualifying. The apparatus finals are scheduled for September 24–25. The results secured final berths rather than medals.
