Vietnamese businesses are presenting agricultural and food products at SIAL Paris 2026, running from October 17 to 21 at Paris Nord Villepinte in France. VietnamPlus reports that a delegation organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade's trade promotion agency comprises 38 businesses in a 354-square-metre national pavilion.

Processing and product positioning

Exhibits include speciality rice, cashews, fruit and vegetables, pepper, cinnamon, star anise, juices and fruit concentrates. Companies are emphasising further processing and products aimed at demand for sustainability, organic production and convenience.

Vietnam's trade counsellor in France, Vũ Anh Sơn, says business participation and display area have increased by nearly 30%. He considers deeper processing consistent with European requirements for quality and sustainability.

Vinaseed is promoting premium rice lines including VJ Burn, Ngọc Nương and VJ products. First-time participant Vilaconic is displaying ST25 and Jasmine rice and packaged pepper while reconnecting with existing customers and seeking new partners.

A Vilaconic representative identifies pesticide-residue requirements as a major challenge and says the company is developing growing areas that meet importing-market standards.

Quality and sustained commercial relationships

The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association is attending with more than 15 businesses. Chairwoman Hoàng Thị Liên reports an approximately 3% fall in the sector's exports to Europe in 2026, including declines exceeding 19% in Germany and 50% in France.

She also cites four European alerts involving pepper and cinnamon this year. The more than 50 alerts mentioned for the previous year cover worldwide markets, so the figures do not form a geographically comparable year-on-year series.

Liên argues for sustained participation across successive trade fairs and more flexible promotion support. Trading company H.A.G Vietnam describes another distribution option: combining smaller purchases from several Vietnamese producers in one container. Such efforts to widen market access remain linked to product quality, food safety and reliable supply.
