The squad is scheduled to assemble on September 21 and travel to Indonesia on September 23. Its group matches are against the Philippines on September 26, Thailand on September 29 and Pakistan on October 2, across Bandung and Jakarta.
Under the format published by VFF, the Group B winner meets the Group A winner in the Division 1 final. Group A includes Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Singapore, making first place Vietnam's key group-stage objective.
The final is scheduled for October 5 at Gelora Bung Karno. VFF says the matches count toward FIFA rankings as international friendlies within the official calendar and offer an opportunity to assess the squad.
