The Television Academy and Prime Video have reached a six-year agreement moving the Primetime Emmys telecast to Amazon's platform from September 2027, Variety reported. The ceremony is set to be available free, outside the subscription paywall, in more than 240 countries and territories. The parties did not disclose financial terms; the figure of around $15 million a year comes from sources cited by Variety. The agreement concerns a future broadcast change and does not mean the 2026 ceremony has already moved to Prime Video.
