Vivien Endemann, Lucy Parry and Mari Ward have returned to Liverpool Women's team training after injuries. Gareth Taylor confirmed their progress in the club's update before the WSL trip to Aston Villa.
Returning to contention
The three players are back around the squad, expanding potential selection options. A training return does not itself guarantee a start or a particular number of minutes.
Aurelie Csillag faces a lengthy absence. Sophie Roman Haug and Anna Josendal are still unable to join training, although Taylor described Haug as getting closer.
The coach hopes Ceri Holland can feature during the coming batch of games before the next international break. That remains an expectation rather than a confirmed return date.
Resetting after international duty
Players who stayed at the club continued working during the break. Taylor said that period helped Mao Itamura move closer to being ready.
Liverpool took seven points from their first five WSL matches. In the Subway Players Cup they beat Sunderland 4-2 and secured a late 4-3 away victory against Birmingham City.
Those completed results provide context before a sequence of three games in one week. Taylor said returning internationals looked sharp and described the latest training session positively.
He also emphasised the need to reset quickly from national-team styles to Liverpool's demands. The Aston Villa fixture supplies the immediate test, while the returning trio's involvement remains subject to fitness and coaching decisions. Each injury case therefore retains its own recovery status rather than being treated as an identical return.
