Evanilson played the decisive role as Bournemouth beat Sunderland 2-0 to secure their first Premier League win under Marco Rose.

The Guardian reported that the Brazilian scored once, assisted once and drew the foul that resulted in Kevin Danso's 17th-minute red card.

Early advantage for the hosts

After Lewis Cook moved the ball forward, Evanilson capitalised on uncertainty in Sunderland's defence. Rather than shoot, he supplied Marcus Tavernier for a headed opening goal.

Sunderland's position worsened when Danso fouled Evanilson as the forward threatened a clear scoring opportunity. The defender was sent off, leaving the visitors short-handed for most of the match.

Bournemouth created further chances before half-time, with goalkeeper Robin Roefs repeatedly called into action.

Evanilson adds the second

A second goal was especially valuable for a Bournemouth side that had previously dropped points from winning positions.

Evanilson took advantage of Omar Alderete's poor back-pass, moved past Roefs and finished into an empty net.

Bournemouth ended the game with 29 shots. Sunderland produced a brief spell of late pressure but could not alter the score.

Regis Le Bris acknowledged his team's poor start and repeated mistakes. Although Sunderland were dealing with a demanding domestic and European schedule, the manager did not treat fatigue as a sufficient explanation.

The result gave Bournemouth a firmer domestic platform before their next European fixture. Sunderland, meanwhile, were left to address the defensive errors that had made a difficult afternoon considerably harder after the early dismissal.
