Brighton confirm Struijk red card and suspension overturned
Brighton have confirmed that Pascal Struijk's red card against Sunderland has been rescinded and his one-match suspension removed. An independent Regulatory Commission upheld the club's wrongful-dismissal claim, making the defender eligible for selection against Crystal Palace on 18 October. Fitness and selection, however, remain separate questions.

What the decision changes
Struijk was dismissed during the Premier League match on 10 October for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity. Brighton's 14 October announcement confirms that the successful challenge removes the disciplinary obstacle before the Palace fixture. It does not name a starting lineup or guarantee that the defender will play the whole match. The outcome concerns the dismissal and its one-match consequence, rather than a declaration of full physical readiness.
Workload still being managed
In a separate official preview of Thursday's Conference League game against Kauno Zalgiris, Fabian Hürzeler said Struijk had experienced issues during international duty and played around 60 minutes against Sunderland. Brighton would manage him by leaving him out of the European fixture, with the coach hoping for a return by the weekend. Hürzeler also expected changes to manage the squad's energy without specifying how many. Jack Hinshelwood was in contention to return, while Femi Azeez and Zadok Yohanna were still adapting to the team's demands. The Amex game was scheduled for 20:00 British time on 15 October. Struijk's successful appeal therefore restores eligibility for Palace without settling his fitness or the manager's eventual team selection.
