FIFA has unveiled the official visual identity for the 2027 U20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The announcement, first published on October 15, places young players and supporters at the centre of the tournament brand.
Design draws on both co-hosts
The identity takes inspiration from local tiles and mosaics, translating them into contemporary patterns and gradients. A prominent U and U20 forms provide the basis for the emblem and wider graphics.
Teal, green, purple and red connect the two countries within a shared palette. FIFA also announced plans for landmarks in Baku and Tashkent to display the emblem during launch activities.
Those are branding celebrations rather than evidence that tournament matches have already taken place.
A milestone in youth football
The 2027 event is planned for 24 teams and will be the competition's 25th edition, marking 50 years since the inaugural tournament in Tunisia in 1977. FIFA names Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland among earlier participants.
Secretary general Mattias Grafstrom described the event as an opportunity to face different football styles and adapt to new surroundings. Representatives of the host associations also highlighted player development and international experience.
Supporters can register interest for future ticket information through FIFA's official channel. That does not establish that sales have opened or prices are available.
The announcement likewise does not confirm Vietnam's participation. Branding, qualification and ticketing are separate developments requiring their own official updates as preparations continue.
