FIFA confirms Bergson is eligible to represent Malaysia
Malaysia's football association says FIFA has confirmed Brazil-born striker Bergson's eligibility after five years of continuous residence in the country.
Bergson joined Johor Darul Ta'zim in 2021 and has compiled a strong club scoring record. Malaysia is also adding midfielder Brad Tapp, who developed through Australian football.
Both are expected to join the squad in September for FIFA ASEAN Cup preparations. Eligibility does not itself constitute an international appearance.
