FPT Play has announced Vietnamese broadcasting rights for the 2026 U17 World Cup in Qatar, including Vietnam's matches, according to the VFF. The announcement provides a viewing option for the national U17 team's first appearance at the world finals.

Rights and access are separate questions

The VFF says FPT Play plans full tournament coverage through its distribution platforms, including television, internet and mobile services.

Thanh Nien also reported that FPT Play, TV360 and MyTV hold rights in Vietnam. The three providers offer different platform choices for domestic audiences.

Thanh Nien says Vietnam beat the UAE and Yemen at the 2026 U17 Asian Cup, topped a group containing South Korea and reached the quarter-finals to secure their World Cup place.

Vietnam’s tournament context

The VFF gives the competition dates as November 19 to December 13, 2026. Forty-eight teams play in 12 groups across a 104-match tournament. The top two in each group and eight best third-placed teams reach the last 32 before knockout competition.

Vietnam are the only Southeast Asian representatives and face Belgium, New Zealand and Mali in Group G. Coach Cristiano Roland emphasises collective cohesion and tactical discipline. Thanh Nien reports plans for training in South Korea and friendly matches before the squad travels to Qatar.

The team's next task is to complete preparations for Qatar. Fans can follow Vietnam national team fixtures and provider announcements to plan their viewing, while progress beyond the group remains dependent on results.
