Vietnam U17 plan three friendlies in South Korea and a meeting with Fiji before the 2026 World Cup. A possible additional game against Saudi Arabia remains under discussion, Bao Van Hoa reported on October 17, citing VFF.
The new information identifies prospective preparation opponents. It does not turn the previously planned Korea and UAE camps into completed matches.
Three Korean tests
Following training in Hanoi, Vietnam are scheduled to camp in South Korea from October 19–29. Named opponents are South Korea U16, South Korea U17 and an U18 side from the K.League 1 system.
The report does not identify the U18 club, so a specific team or venue should not be inferred. The games are intended to assess player progress and refine tactical options.
During the November 6–9 UAE camp, Vietnam plan to face Fiji U17. VFF regards Fiji as sharing characteristics with New Zealand, one of Vietnam's World Cup group opponents.
Saudi meeting remains conditional
Discussions with Saudi Arabia could provide another rehearsal if agreement is reached. The available announcement therefore does not establish five confirmed fixtures.
At the tournament in Qatar, Vietnam are in Group G with Belgium, New Zealand and Mali. Forty-eight teams share twelve groups, with the top two in each and eight best third-placed sides reaching the round of thirty-two.
Coach Cristiano Roland said his staff had studied all three opponents and wanted players to focus match by match. He also stressed daily discipline and sensible social-media use. The friendlies support that preparation; they are not evidence of World Cup results or qualification for the knockout stage.
