Vietnam's 2026 HDBank national futsal competitions were reviewed at a conference hosted by Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in Ho Chi Minh City on 5 November. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) says the meeting also considered provisional 2027 dates and a proposal to study video assistance for referees.

Thái Sơn Bắc's domestic double

Thái Sơn Bắc won both the national championship and national cup in 2026. The VFF says a 6-0 final-round win over Tân Hiệp Hưng TP.HCM took them to 37 points, one ahead of Thái Sơn Nam TP.HCM. It was their second national league title after 2010.

They also beat Sahako 4-2 in the cup final on 14 September at Lãnh Binh Thăng arena, winning the cup for the third consecutive year. These were separate competitions and separate titles.

The league champions are expected to represent Vietnam in the 2027 Asian club futsal competition, while the runners-up are set for the Southeast Asian club competition, subject to AFC and AFF licensing criteria, the VFF says.

Provisional dates and a technology proposal

The plan presented at the meeting puts the 2027 national championship between 20 February and 20 June, and the national cup between 28 July and 8 August. The VFF describes these as provisional dates coordinated with national-team commitments.

VFF president Trần Quốc Tuấn proposed that organisers study the possible use of Video Assistant technology. The report describes a proposal for study, not an implementation decision. The conference also marked ten years of cooperation among VOV, the VFF and HDBank. Follow more Vietnam football news.
