The Grand Ho Tram announced a total bonus of US$10,000, shared equally between Vietnam’s men’s and women’s chess teams after the 2026 Olympiad. Tuoi Tre reported that the women finished ninth from a starting seed of 21, while the men placed 19th in the Open section.
The men also won the Group B category award, which is separate from the overall title. Nguyen Thi Mai Hung earned an individual silver medal, and Banh Gia Huy and Nguyen Quoc Hy achieved grandmaster norms. A GM norm alone does not establish completion of every requirement for the grandmaster title.
