Vietnam’s customs authorities are studying a new circular to replace Circulars 81/2019 and 06/2024 on risk management, Bao Chinh Phu reported on September 29. The proposed changes aim to update compliance assessment, inspection selection and automated customs channel assignment as trade conditions evolve.

The legal framework review is linked to greater use of data and technology in customs administration. The work remains at the research and drafting stage; the report does not announce an enacted or effective replacement circular.
