Công an Hà Nội coach Alexandre Polking said he had hoped Nguyễn Đình Bắc could rest during Vietnam’s November national-team gathering, while stressing his respect for the team, coach Kim Sang-sik and the player’s wish to represent his country.
Polking spoke after his club beat Công an TP.HCM 2-1 in the V.League on 7 November. Tuổi Trẻ reported that Đình Bắc was the only Công an Hà Nội player named in the national squad for the gathering.
Why the coach raised rest
Polking said the club had sought a break for the young forward like those available to his teammates. He acknowledged that Đình Bắc was playing well and that Vietnam’s coaches needed him. His main hope, he said, was that the player would return to the club without an injury.
The coach noted that Công an Hà Nội had played 14 matches since the start of the season. He also said Đình Bắc’s workload had not been excessive and that the player had not travelled to China for the club’s Asian competition. Polking did not know whether Vietnam would use him in both friendlies.
His comments describe a club coach’s preference and concern; they do not announce a withdrawal from the squad. Polking added that Đình Bắc enjoys playing for Vietnam and that supporters want to watch him.
The national-team gathering
Tuổi Trẻ said Vietnam were due to gather on 8 November for the 2026 Casper Cup and friendlies against Chinese Taipei and Kyrgyzstan. Đình Bắc was expected to join after the club match, with national-team selection a decision for Kim’s staff.
The victory moved Công an Hà Nội into second place as reported after the round. Bóng Đá 24h quoted Polking praising the partnership of defenders Đoàn Văn Hậu and Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh, while recognising that their opponents had controlled a spell and created chances after equalising.
