More than 500 delegates attended a national workshop on Vietnam's supporting industries in Phu Tho on September 30. The Central Policy and Strategy Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the provincial Party committee brought together officials, researchers, businesses and international partners.

Discussions reviewed existing industrial capacity and bottlenecks, and explored policies to help supporting manufacturers participate more deeply in production chains. The proposals contribute to policy development; their presentation at the workshop does not mean they have already been enacted or fully implemented.
