Khanh Hoa province is calling for donations of documents and objects for the Truong Sa Museum. The campaign runs during 2026–2027 and prioritises original material with verifiable provenance, Bao Van Hoa reported on October 16.
Construction has begun on a 20,700-square-metre site in Cam Lam commune. The collection campaign does not mean the museum is already complete or open to visitors.
Natural, historical and everyday-life material
Requested items include maps, nautical charts, geological and marine-ecology research, and maritime-transport documents. Organisers also seek historical records and service members' possessions, including material associated with the 1988 Gac Ma events.
Fishing equipment, cultural objects, letters and gifts illustrating life on the islands and connections with the mainland are further priorities.
Provincial authorities describe the museum as a research and educational institution presenting material about Truong Sa, including Vietnam's stated sovereignty position and evidence. These are the organisers' stated exhibition objectives.
Assessment before display
Individuals and organisations can donate voluntarily, transfer objects or provide information. Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum can receive material directly or by post and arrange specialist visits for bulky items or people with mobility difficulties.
The public receiving point is the provincial museum at 16 Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang ward. Received objects will undergo inventory, scientific assessment and conservation before selection for display under heritage regulations.
Campaign activity will include periods associated with April 29 and March 14. The invitation is not a guarantee that every submitted item will be exhibited; provenance and significance remain subject to professional assessment.
