The kickboxing programme at Vietnam's 2026 National Sports Games has registered 324 coaches and athletes from 28 delegations, according to Sài Gòn Giải Phóng. Competitors will contest 23 medal events across lowkick and fullcontact, with all finals scheduled for November 14 in Đồng Nai.

The competition runs from November 7 to 14 and features leading domestic fighters alongside teams from across the country. The registration figure includes coaches as well as athletes.

Two disciplines and one event per fighter

Lowkick accounts for 12 weight classes and fullcontact for 11, covering men's and women's events. Under the rules cited by the newspaper, an athlete may enter only one kickboxing event for their delegation.

Bouts use a single-elimination format, with three three-minute rounds and a one-minute break between rounds. Sài Gòn Giải Phóng said the competition follows the Asian Kickboxing Confederation's current rules.

Báo Văn Hóa reported that the opening-day programme on November 7 included 15 men's lowkick preliminary bouts, across weight groups from 48-51 kg to 71-75 kg. Before competition, organisers held referee training and met team leaders and coaches to agree on technical and operational matters.

Delegations and previous results

Host Ho Chi Minh City registered 23 athletes, 16 men and seven women. Cần Thơ listed 19 and the Army team 17; Hà Nội, Đồng Tháp, Đắk Lắk and Đồng Nai each registered 12, according to Sài Gòn Giải Phóng.

The listed competitors include Ho Chi Minh City's Huỳnh Văn Tuấn and Nguyễn Văn Hà, Hà Nội's Kiều Huy Quân and Nguyễn Sĩ Thắng, and the Army's Trương Ngô Gia Huy. Registration alone does not establish an athlete's result.

At the 2022 Games in Hải Phòng, kickboxing featured 22 events. Hà Nội led with four golds and one bronze; Báo Văn Hóa reported that Thái Nguyên finished second and Hải Phòng third. This year's finals are scheduled at the sports training and competition centre in Bình Phước ward, Đồng Nai.
