VFF outlined its national teams' year-end plans at a media briefing on September 10, covering men's, women's, youth and futsal squads. The federation emphasized coordination with clubs as several teams face short preparation periods or injury-related absences.
The men's team is scheduled to assemble on September 21 for the FIFA ASEAN Cup, targeting a place in the final. The women's and U23 teams both aim to reach the Asian Games quarterfinals, with the U23 squad due to gather on September 12.
Vietnam's U17 team is scheduled to assemble from September 20 and aims to progress beyond the U17 World Cup group stage. VFF is seeking alternative preparation arrangements after a planned friendly program in Thailand changed location.
The men's and women's futsal teams will gather in late October and early November respectively before friendlies and AIMAG. VFF says the programs also support squad development for 2027 and subsequent competition cycles.
