Liverpool beat Tottenham 3-1 and Arsenal defeated Ipswich Town 4-2 to advance to the fourth round of the English League Cup. Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai scored for Liverpool at Anfield.
At Portman Road, 16-year-old Max Dowman scored twice for Arsenal, with Noni Madueke and Mikel Merino adding the other goals. Ipswich reduced the deficit after falling 4-0 behind, but their late response was not enough to change the outcome.
