Mersin began their EuroCup Women title defence with a 72-59 victory over Sleza Wroclaw, while Reyer beat Universitatea Cluj 111-47. FIBA's roundup highlights strong individual contributions across the opening programme.
Two winners find productive combinations
Kennedy Burke supplied 23 points, ten rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks for Mersin. Last season's Finals MVP therefore produced an all-round opening performance, not another newly completed title.
Carla Leite added 18 points and 11 assists. Their combined contributions provide the statistical foundation for Mersin's result.
Reyer passed the century mark against Cluj. Alyssa Ustby recorded 16 points and 12 rebounds, Adrijana Cvitkovic contributed 15 points and nine boards, and Francesca Pan led the scoring with 17.
Cisse stands out elsewhere
BLMA defeated Duran Maquinaria Ensino 89-64, with Sarah Cisse collecting 12 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. FIBA places her performance alongside her recent MVP award at the 2026 U20 Women's EuroBasket.
In Poland, Gorzów beat debutants Panserraikos 87-63. Tyia Singleton scored 22 for the losing side, making six of seven three-point attempts.
Rutronik Stars Keltern, C'Chartres Métropole Féminin and Castelnuovo Scrivia also opened with wins in the report.
These are EuroCup Women results, distinct from EuroLeague Women and the men's FIBA Europe Cup. Mersin and Reyer have made positive starts, while assessments of their title chances concern a competition whose remaining stages are still ahead.
