Netflix’s London headquarters has lost around 2–3% of its workforce in a reorganisation, while production executive Anna Mallett has left the company, Variety reported. Some publicity positions were among those affected as changes from the previous month’s US restructuring reached the UK operation.

A production role across regions

Mallett joined Netflix in 2020 after serving as chief executive of ITN. Her responsibilities included physical production in the UK and local language production across EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific. She oversaw production management teams covering live action series, nonfiction and film.

She had previously held senior BBC Studios roles. Her Netflix tenure included the release of UK successes such as Baby Reindeer and Adolescence. Variety credited The Ankler with first reporting her departure.

Restructuring alongside international ambitions

The changes follow Peter Rice replacing Bela Bajaria as content chief. Variety described concerns about further changes, particularly to international output, and reported an understood total of around 1,000 job cuts worldwide. That global figure is separate from the percentage affecting London.

On Netflix’s latest earnings call, co-chief executive Greg Peters continued to emphasise results in Asia Pacific, Latin America and EMEA. He said local titles were contributing engagement and business growth, presenting continuity in international strategy amid organisational change.

The next point to watch is how production responsibilities are reassigned and international commissioning develops. The report did not identify a successor to Mallett or a further London reduction timetable, leaving those operational details to subsequent announcements.
