Vietnamese boxers Nguyen Thi Tam and Luu Diem Quynh reached the Asian Games semifinals with 5-0 quarterfinal wins. Tam beat South Korea’s Bak Chorong at 51 kg, while Diem Quynh defeated Iran’s Khoshkhabar Oghani Parmida at 75 kg.
Under the boxing format, losing semifinalists receive bronze. Both Vietnamese athletes have therefore secured at least a medal, while their final medal colors depend on subsequent bouts.
