Composer Nguyễn Văn Chung said on October 20 that Hiền Thục's recording of Nhật ký của mẹ has been selected for Very Ballroom 10 by London-based WRD Music. The inclusion adds another international release after earlier educational and ballroom compilations in Japan and Germany.

Music for ballroom practice and competition

According to the label's description, Very Ballroom 10 contains fifty tracks across two CDs. Nhật ký của mẹ appears as track six on the first disc. The collection is intended for competitive dancers and ballroom enthusiasts, with music arranged and timed for specific dances.

The listed styles include slow waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, slowfox and quickstep. Their distinct tempos support practice and competition use, rather than simply forming a general listening collection. Inclusion represents a record label's editorial selection, not an official British award or a global ranking.

From a family gift to overseas releases

Chung wrote the song in 2008 as a birthday gift for his mother. It was recorded for My Family in 2011, followed by a sand-art music video and a dedicated release in March 2012.

Hiền Thục's performance became closely associated with the work. Before the British compilation, the song appeared on a Japanese learning disc and a ballroom collection from Germany's Casa Musica. These are separate products rather than one coordinated release.

Chung expressed emotion that the song continued reaching listeners in different countries. The announcement concerns selection and publication; it does not provide independently audited disc sales or royalty revenue.
