Giai Phong Auto reported a net loss of 14.6 billion dong for the first nine months of the year, according to VnExpress's account of its third-quarter financial statement.

Revenue was 1.4 billion dong, down 98 per cent year on year.

Weak sales, continuing costs

The source says first-half revenue had been around 400 million dong.

For nine months, gross profit was negative by 3.7 billion dong. Financial income of approximately 861 million dong did not offset finance, selling and management costs.

The net loss widened from 10.8 billion dong in the comparable period.

The company had already recorded 14 consecutive annual losses. The current nine-month figures continue that negative trend but are not a completed audited result for all of 2026.

Business and capital allocation

The company originated in 2001 and adopted its current name in 2008. The article describes its principal activity as manufacturing and selling trucks below 25 tonnes.

It also records an assembly plant in Thanh Thuy, Tuyen Quang.

During the year, a private placement of 20 million shares raised 200 billion dong.

VnExpress says the intended use shifted from electric-vehicle assembly towards an investment partnership with a property business.

Those developments concern this company's finances and allocation decisions, not the performance of Vietnam's entire automotive industry.

The return from the revised investment approach and the full-year financial outcome remain for later reporting.
