Olivia Rodrigo plans to release her first Christmas song, Take Me Home (4 Christmas), alongside a video featuring Cynthia Nixon and Ben Marshall. Variety’s November 2 report gives the release time as Thursday at 5 p.m. Pacific.
Collaborators and release timing
Rodrigo wrote the song with frequent collaborators Dan Nigro and Amy Allen, with Nigro producing. Nixon is known for Sex and the City, while Marshall appears on Saturday Night Live. The report identifies their participation without describing the video’s plot.
The Thursday following the dated report falls on November 5 on the US West Coast. At that time of year, 5 p.m. Pacific corresponds to 8 a.m. on November 6 in Vietnam. That is a conversion of the announced time rather than confirmation of a particular Vietnamese distribution channel.
Seven inch vinyl and cassette versions also form part of the release plan, alongside the main song and video.
A continuing run of music and performances
The holiday release follows the October 15 Expectations remix with Chappell Roan. Its video featured the singers and David Byrne in a game show setting. Rodrigo released her third album, You Look Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, in June.
Variety also said she would receive Songwriter of the Year at its tenth Hitmakers event in Los Angeles in December. Her Unraveled world tour continues through May 2027.
The immediate next milestone is the Thursday song and video release, followed by the December event and the remaining announced tour schedule.
