Prime Video has set January 20, 2027 for Bloodaxe and unveiled a new trailer at New York Comic Con, Variety reports. The eight-episode first season follows Erik Bloodaxe and Gunnhild amid a struggle for power in tenth-century Norway. Michael Hirst and Horatio Hirst serve as writers and executive producers. A second season has already been ordered and is in production in Ireland. The announcement provides the forthcoming first season’s release date rather than marking an existing streaming launch.
