Paris Jackson is asking a Los Angeles court to order an initial $600 million transfer to the Michael Jackson Family Trust, or another amount the judge considers appropriate. VnExpress and Thanh Niên report Page Six's account of the October 29 filing. The request concerns a trust benefiting Paris, Prince and Bigi, rather than a personal payment already awarded to Paris.
The applicant's case
Paris argues that the trust remains unfunded 17 years after her father's death despite growth in the estate's assets and cash. She alleges that executor John Branca, a lawyer who chairs The Michael Jackson Company, controls access to distributions and has used that position against challenges to his management.
Her view that sufficient resources remain available is part of her legal argument.
The estate's response
An estate representative says unresolved legal obstacles prevent full funding of the beneficiary and charitable trusts. The response cites an IRS dispute involving a $700 million tax-and-penalty demand, not a final settled liability.
The representative denies withholding or cutting payments. VnExpress also relays the estate's statement that more than $200 million has gone to Paris and other beneficiaries or been used for their benefit.
A hearing is expected in December. That is the next procedural step described by the sources, with the court still to consider the competing positions. The requested $600 million transfer still awaits a court decision.
